Just outside the town of Azangaro, in the Puno region of Peru, 10x10 visits Escuela Albergue Mirasol, a CARE affiliated school for kids 5 to 13 years old whose parents are alpaca shepherds. In order to improve the quality of education for 7,900 Quechua-speaking children of rural communities in Azangaro, CARE launched The Kawsay Project (“Life” in Quechua), an intercultural, bilingual education curriculum. A few of these kids meet 10x10 producer Martha Adams in this video.
